First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a comprehensive Dental examination, a thorough review of your Dental and Medical health history and necessary radiographs. An individual treatment plan will be developed based on our Doctors examination and your individual needs. Based on your current Dental condition we may be able to complete a thorough cleaning of you teeth. Our New Patient Examinations are very thorough. This means that we may need to schedule your initial cleaning on another day. Some patients may present with  complex medical history or treatment needs that may require a second appointment to discuss  more comprehensive treatment options.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your previous Dental X-rays if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to Dental procedures (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)

X-Rays

Our office utilizes DEXIS digital radiography. This state of the art Digital X-ray system allows us to take the necessary radiographs in order to diagnose your Dental condition. Your previous Dentist may have taken radiographs in the past. Unless your previous Dentist used DEXIS digital radiography and can forward your most recent radiographs to our office prior to your visit we will take the necessary radiographs in order to diagnose your current conditions. Most radiographs that we see from other offices do not allow us to accurately diagnose your current conditions. It is vital that we have diagnostic quality radiographs. If we do not have the proper radiographs to properly diagnose your current dental conditions, we will take the necessary radiographs in order to formulate the necessary treatment plan to address your Dental health. Our radiographic policy is to take the necessary radiographs to accurately diagnose the possible presence of dental disease. Regardless of what your insurance will or won't cover or what radiographs may have been taken in the past we will take what is necessary for proper diagnosis. Generally at your first visit to our office for a Comprehensive New Patient examination we may take a Full Mouth Series of radiographs and a Panoramic Radiograph. Your treating Dentist will determine what radiographs he or she will need for diagnosis.
